The agreement between you and HelpfulAmiga.

Welcome

HelpfulAmiga is a concierge-style companion app for women going through cancer treatment. It is built with care, but it is not a medical service. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

Not medical advice

Nothing in HelpfulAmiga — recipes, conversations with Amiga, product recommendations, reminders, journal prompts, suggested practices, or any other content — is medical advice. We are not a substitute for your oncologist, oncology nurse, registered dietitian, or any other licensed clinician. Every recipe and recommendation in this app is a SUGGESTION for your consideration; you must check with your oncology team before adding any new food, drink, supplement, or routine to your treatment. Some ingredients can interact with chemotherapy medications, affect drug absorption, or be unsuitable for specific treatment protocols. Your oncology team knows your care plan; we do not.

Conversations with Amiga

Amiga is an AI companion. She is warm and present, but she is not a clinician, not a therapist, and not a confidante in the legal sense. She does not have access to your medical records, does not coordinate with your providers, and her replies are generated by a language model that can be wrong. If something Amiga says contradicts your care team, defer to your care team — always.

Crisis situations

If you are in an acute mental-health crisis, having thoughts of harming yourself, or facing a medical emergency, please contact your local emergency services (911 in the US, 999 in the UK, etc.) or a crisis line. Amiga surfaces crisis resources when she detects distress, but she is not a crisis service and cannot dispatch help. If you are in immediate danger, call emergency services now.

Product recommendations

When you tap a product card, you are taken to a third-party retailer (typically Amazon). We may earn an affiliate commission on qualifying purchases — this never affects price for you. Product information (ingredients, claims, suitability) is summarized in good faith from public sources but may be incomplete or out of date. Read the retailer's listing, check ingredients against your own allergies and treatment plan, and consult your care team before introducing new products to your skin or routine.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, attempt to reverse-engineer it, harass other users (where applicable), or violate these terms.

Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions renew on a recurring basis until canceled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Trial periods, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.

Cancellation and refund policy

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, you keep full access through the end of your current billing period — we do not prorate or charge again. If you cancel during a free trial, you will not be charged. If you believe you were charged in error or are unhappy with the service, email us at [email protected] within 30 days of the charge and we will issue a full refund. HelpfulAmiga is a digital service — there are no physical goods to return.

Privacy

We collect what we need to make the app work — account info, what you share in chat, what you log in your journal, your appointments and reminders — and we do not sell that data. Your conversations with Amiga are processed by a language-model provider (Anthropic) under their terms; we do not train models on your data. You can delete your account anytime, which removes your data from our active systems within 30 days.

Limitation of liability

HelpfulAmiga is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any harm arising from your use of the app, including any decision you make about your treatment, diet, or self-care based on content shown in the app. You use the app voluntarily, and you remain responsible for your own medical care. If a court declines to enforce this limitation, our total liability will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect means you accept the updated terms.
